Tidepool Tim says, "Many marine invertebrates, like snails, love to hide in eelgrass. Seagrass is also great in tanks because it provides the environment with oxygen. Water that's rich in dissolved oxygen is more apt to support both animal and plant life.  This grass will even add oxygen to the aquarium substrate with its root mass. Some tank dwellers, like urchins, will feed on your growing eelgrass."

Crafted Through Scientific Collaboration

Tidepool Tim partnered with the University of Maine’s Food Science and Human Nutrition Department for a six-month research and development project to perfect our Irish Sea Moss Gel recipe. Working closely with food science experts Rob Dumas and Caitlynn Hillary, we tested a wide range of recipes —hot and cold water infusions, varied soak times, and concentration levels—to identify the optimal approach for nutrient retention, gel consistency, and flavor neutrality. The result is a scientifically-informed, kitchen-ready recipe we're proud to share with you.
