Worm Care: Worms should be kept on 32-38 degrees F. for longest life. Best to remove them from tub and kept in larger container with worm-weed. Rinse daily with seawater and remove any worms that appear dead or dying. One dead worm can rot and kill the others. Tidepool Tim says, "Bloodworms are popular in Maine for their use as aquaculture feed. What makes them visually interesting it what happens when they attack! They're carnivorous and capture food by extending a large proboscis containing four sets of hollow jaws. The jaws are attached to gland filled with venom painful even to a human. Even so, I have handled them so many times and don't run into trouble."
