Tim is the president of Gulf of Maine, Inc., a marine life and biological supply company on the coast of Maine. GOM helps teachers bring marine science ALIVE in their classrooms! Tim spends a large part of each day on the beaches, in the mud, hanging off floats, and peering into pools and caves to find and learn more about the sea life that lives on the coast of Maine.
He has spent the past 40 years of his life having fun making money and exploring the U.S. and Europe. He has a wife , 4 great kids and a big saltwater farm on Cobscook Bay - a sidearm of the Bay of Fundy. He came to the area as a biology teacher and taught for 7 years at a local high school.
This led to his pursuing of a Master Maine Guides license, USCG captains license, and the evolution in the outfitting and eco-tour company we ran called Tidal Trails. This proved to be great fun - but not enough of a business to support a family year-round. Gulf of Maine was born in the year 2000 as Tim began commercially collecting and selling marine life to labs, schools, and supply houses.
Since the beginning of Gulf of Maine, Inc., Amy has been at Tim's side, helping him run their seafood and marine science business. She helps with invoicing customers, follow up calls for customer satisfaction, book-keeping, sales, collecting, advertising, social media, trade shows, scheduling, and cheerleading the gang! Amy has also been growing her Health & Wellness Life Coaching practice over the past few years and has created some healthy lifestyle groups in the community, as well as online, with great success. Healthy living, food, and lifestyle are definitely her passion! She has also been spending some time working in the same dental practice that she worked in when they first moved Down East, in 1992. This has been fun for her and has been a great opportunity for her to use her business, inter personal, and natural "coaching" skills, outside of the home and their personal business.
Her priority remains being 100% there, as mom, for her 4 awesome kids, Dewey, Tucker, Molly, and Finn.
She passionately volunteers her time as a swim coach for the Special Olympics and hopes that someday she can dedicate even more time to this organization.
