The jawless mouth of a sea lamprey!
Tidepool Tim says, "Sea lampreys 'make their living' as fish parasites, suctioning their jawless mouths to an unfortunate host. Lampreys are chordates, although their skeleton is cartilaginous. These fish are considered a problem in areas where they have taken over lakes by running up rivers and dominating the fish inhabiting the enclosed area."
